A series made for TV in 1969 about a Wizard from 1066 who wanted to fly! however his Magic most of the time would not "work".
However one day while being chased by the Normans he flew but not up? but Forward in time to 1970, everything `Catweazle` touched and saw was all MAGIC! to him.
There are 26 episodes written by Richard Carpenter and Catweazle was BRILLIANTLY played by Geoffrey Bayldon.
The series had viewing figures from 17-20 million no other series has touched people like `Catweazle has, the last 13 series was made for the American market but at the time I don`t think they got the Brilliant British humor also there was not much memorabilia from the series in a time when everything had to have some for the American market.
If you have never seen Catweazle you will forget all about Harry Potter. |
